Biography

Finnegan began his career in the local Wrexham Chums League reputedly saving three penalties in one match. Following spells with Oswestry Town, Holyhead Town and Connah's Quay & Shotton, he arrived at the Racecourse for the start of the 1992-23 season.

Initially signed on Amateur forms, he made his senior debut against Tranmere the following March. With regular first-choice keeper George Godding away on international duty, Finnegan helped the Blues to a 2-1 victory.
