Biography
Paul was the son of Les Speed who made 250 appearances for Wrexham between 1945 and 1955.
He represented Wrexham at youth team level and also played for Mid-Cheshire Schoolboys. His family also remember him having a trial at Manchester United alongside George Best.
Paul's career took him south where he became a supervisor in the cargo section of Israeli Airways based at Heathrow Airport. He was riding his motorcycle home from work when he was tragically killed in a road accident which also involved two cars.
