This match was arranged by the Football Association of Wales to look at how prospective changes to the off-side rule could be implemented. It was scheduled to be played over 2 x 40 minute periods but was ultimately postponed due to Mold having to play at Oswestry in a Welsh Cup tie that same week.
The off-side rule was amended that April when the International Board ruled that two rather than three defenders had to be between the attacking player and the goal.
